Doug Briles

Douglas C. Briles, CFA

Managing Director/Portfolio Manager

Doug is responsible for managing client relationships, which includes portfolio management and analysis. Prior to joining Cedar Hill, Doug was a Portfolio Manager with Cambium Asset Management. His background also includes serving as a Portfolio Analyst with MainStreet Advisors where he was responsible for investment analysis, portfolio construction, portfolio research, and client communication.

Doug earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lawrence University. Doug is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute, as well as the CFA Society of Chicago.


Mike Musselman

Michael F. Musselman, CFP®

Managing Director/Portfolio Manager

Mike is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment strategies and processes as well as being responsible for managing client relationships.

Prior to joining Cedar Hill, Mike spent 13 years with MB Financial Bank, N.A. As a Senior Vice President and Managing Director in the MB Wealth Management Group, Mike was most recently the head of portfolio management. Initially an investment analyst and eventually the head of investment research, he played a primary role in the construction of the team’s investment management process. Mike has deep experience in client relationship management, portfolio management, securities analysis, manager due diligence, team building, and authoring proprietary marketing materials and economic/financial market publications.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Illinois Wesleyan University and his MBA in finance from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Mike is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.



Designations
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation is an international professional certification offered by the CFA Institute (formerly AIMR) to financial analysts who complete a series of three examinations. To become a CFA® charterholder candidates must pass each of three six-hour exams, possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or have equivalent education or work experience) and have 48 months of qualified, professional work experience. CFA® charterholders are also obligated to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards governing their professional conduct.


CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER BOARD OF STANDARDS INC. (CFP®) owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.


Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC) is a professional designation for CFAs who work as investment advisers. In order to qualify as a CIC, one must first become a Chartered Financial Analyst, have at least five years of work experience as an investment adviser or a similar field, and work at a member firm of the Investment Adviser Association.
